"A Walk Among Giants".

Pr man, & tourism guru Matt Britton, our resident photographer had these photos gathering dust among his collection, when we managed commandeer some of them; Jack Lynch, Charles Haughey, Tip O’ Neill & Senator Ted Kennedy, (brother to J.F.K) are but a few. The associations through his work, developed into friendships, and remain solid to this current day. He has been humbled by the generosity bestowed upon him, and honoured by the privileges for which he would only have dreamed. This is a glimpse of his “walk among giants”, his cherished memories embedded within his mind. It could be said that mixing within these circles is because it is right place, right time. I believe that if he were a singer, he would be Bono, or a writer, James Joyce & a footballer… he would have been Best! He is “best”, best as an entertainer with a gift; he is the silver-tongued devil, the smooth operator who loves his job
He has the ability to “create a dream & grant the wish”. When Taoiseach (the Prime minster of Ireland) spent his last day in office said Matt to be with him, which he did & the Kennedy family came to Ireland to discover their origins, he entertained them just as normal tourists, sightseeing, pubs, clubs the whole 9½ yards “they lived their dream”, with his help. The visit of Pope John Paul 2nd to Ireland was a wonderful memory, which we all cherished, the honour of catering for Gods servant at Phoenix Park, under centre stage was down to Matt. I don’t believe it will get him through the heavenly gates as he acquired the pontiffs cutterly, table cloth, & plates, as a momento at the end of his meal. If I was asked for a word to describe Matt, it is the word, “passionate”! From his views on sport, politics, and photography his love of people and country & not forgetting his music. Some of the photos have never been published before; personal non-posed friends/ family shots…. Enjoy
